Why Eddie's Angels

Eddie was the first child adopted through Homes4Good. He had significant developmental issues and a heart condition that gave him life expectancy of about 12 years. His prognosis was that he would never walk, talk, or eat without a g-tube. At a recruitment event at a local church, a family approached Homes4Good and asked about the adoption process and if we could find “Eddie”. The mother of the family was Eddie’s kindergarten teacher while he was in a particular foster home. He had been removed from that home for unknown reasons and placed in another home which meant he also lost his school placement. They completed the process for verification and in June 2003, Eddie was placed with this family for adoption. The family has since moved to another state. However, last year they brought Eddie to Homes4Good for a visit. He walked over to the Executive Director and climbed in her lap and chatted up a storm. The family reports that he eats anything he wants WITHOUT the g-tube. He has not made his twelfth birthday yet, but everyone has full confidence that he will far exceed that prediction.
